Welcome to the NZ Swimming Roll of Honour! The NZ Swimming Roll of Honour is being developed to recognise all those swimmers who have represented New Zealand at an Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and World Short Course Championships.
Please understand that this is an enormous task, and is definitely a “work in progress” over the coming months. If you are not on the site just yet, rest assured - you haven’t been forgotten! We are going to great lengths to ensure accuracy so that everyone who is eligible will be recognised.
We appreciate and remember all those swimmers, beginning with Malcolm Champion in 1912 and continuing to the present day, who have contributed to the rich and successful history of our sport. Their efforts and commitment to the great sport of swimming have provided us with wonderful sporting memories and legacies on which to continue building our country’s swimming success.
We have 5 Olympic Medallists, the great Danyon Loader our only double Olympic Champion, Malcolm Champion our first Olympic medallist, Jean Hurring (nee Stewart) our only female Olympic medallist to date and the Stars of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Bronze medallists Anthony Mosse and Paul Kingsman.
With a further 68 Commonwealth Medallists and numerous World Championship medallists (Long-course and Short-course) we certainly have a great history, and long may our proud tradition of producing hard-working, committed, and successful athletes continue. Our aim is to feature the profiles of all athletes who are Olympians, Commonwealth/Empire games, and World Championship team members online.

If you want your information to appear under your name you will need to provide it for me. Please email me at jaynie@absins.co.nz with your contact details and I will send you out a bio form for you to fill out and upon its return your information will be uploaded to the site. If you have National representative team-mates who you are in contact with and whose profile is not complete then please forward me their contact details.
We will also be recognising the often un-sung heroes of our sport – our NZ Team Coaches (past and present), many of whom have committed much of their lives to developing young swimmers in the pursuit of excellence.
