In 1974 at the Commonwealth Games in Christchurch a virtually unknown 17 year old named Jaynie Parkhouse swam to victory in the 800m Freestyle thus becoming the first New Zealand woman to win a Swimming Gold Medal at either Olympic or Commonwealth Games level.
32 years later Jaynie
(nee Parkhouse) along with her husband Craig, and business partners Chris and Marie Boon – the owners of Absolute Insurance Ltd – entered into an exciting Sponsorship program of Swimming Clubs and individual competitors in New Zealand.
With New Zealand’s dismal drowning record, we believe that everyone should not only learn to swim, but swim well – a skill that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Our SwimSure Rebate program is designed to put money back into local Swimming Clubs throughout the country to allow them to better service their local communities with the programs they offer. We are also passionate about seeing young athletes reach their full potential through sport, and financially assist a number of our elite swimmers to achieve their personal goals.
This Sponsorship program can benefit every local Swimming Club in New Zealand.
